I have been a democrat since the '76 election (I was 5). We had a mock election in my kindergarten class and I voted for Carter, and cried when he did not win (my classes election.... obviously not the national one). In '84 (Reagan/Mondale) my church youth director (who was a yellow dog democrat) invited the chairmen of both the Democrat and Republican parties of McClennan county (Waco, Texas) to speak to us about the issues. I completely agreed with everything the Democratic chairman said, and have been a die-hard Democrat ever since.
