Conservative convert I'm a former daily Rush listener who has crossed to the other side of the aisle.
I used to joke: "I was a liberal, until I found out how much they wanted to take out of my paycheck".
Now I joke: "I was a conservative, until I learned how much they ARE taking out of my paycheck."
Or alternately: "I was a conservative because I was anti-socialist. That was until I discovered that the conservatives were ALL FOR socialism - as long as their favorite corporation was the beneficiary."
