Freethinking ex-hippie looking for peace & love I have traveled and moved around a great deal, but (for now) have settled in Western Jersey. My friends describe me as adventurous, fun and witty. I am a secular humanist and atheist, and value family, kindness and open-mindedness. I'm a bit of an activist, and am highly involved in a local humanist group. My career in education is very important to me, and I know that I make a difference with my students. I believe that a person should be judged by the content of their character, and try to live up to high standards. My strong political views could be described as progressive and liberal. I support Obama about 95% of the time. I enjoy trying new things and new places, but love skiing, SCUBA, gardening, cycling, traveling, Bill Maher and Jon Stewart. I loathe Fox News, Glenn Beck, and Sarah Palin.
I am looking for a man who is open minded and has an overall positive outlook on life. I want someone who is active but not obsessive about it, who is intelligent but not pompous about it, and who has a sense of humor. I hope to find a partner who likes to get out and do things, but also enjoys time at home reading a good book. Maybe we will have some similar interests, and teach each other to enjoy some new things! I don't much get into watching TV or sports, but enjoy a good movie and participating in a variety of sports/activities.
