Looking for liberal geek-ette If you're looking for a typical South Florida guy, I'm not him. I'm sure you know what that means. I'm initially pretty shy but I warm up when engaged. I like intelligent conversation and playful sarcasm -- these things put me at ease. (Also, I curse a lot.) For those who find the MBTI helpful and/or accurate (I do), my personality type is INTJ.

I'm clerking for an appellate judge in West Palm Beach. I research and write all day long. It's the perfect job. (Before I sold out and went to law school, I studied History and Russian Studies, spending a year abroad in Moscow and St. Petersburg.) Usually, I try to achieve a good work/life balance, but I love my job and I will put extra hours in or take work home with me.

I have a dog, Samson. He is a seven-year-old Chow/Lab mix. He's smart, well-behaved, and a goofball. That said, he's extremely hyper (even at seven) and can be really crazy (in a sweet way). I guess the relevant cliche is "must love dogs," especially mine.

In my free time, I usually stay at home, watch TV, and take my dog for long walks. I try my best to keep up with current events by reading websites like The New York Times, The Washington Post, Politico, and the The Huffington Post.

I tend to like science fiction TV shows and comedies like Modern Family and Community. For music, I like Wilco, Ben Folds, The Beach Boys, Sleater-Kinney, and The Band. Probably my all time favorite movie is Lawrence of Arabia; a close second is The Great Escape. My favorites books are 1984, Brave New World, Alas, Babylon, the Dune novels, and anything by Somerset Maugham.

Finally, I am very liberal, hence my being here. My politics are very important to me. I believe the government should stay out of my personal business but regulate rich peoples' actual business. I'm a strong believer in social justice, and I believe the government has an obligation to help out those of us who are less fortunate. I'm a ten-plus-years vegetarian.
